The Case XX Seahorse Whittler is a distinctive three-blade traditional pocket knife built around a substantial Wharncliffe main blade and two smaller detail blades. Its unusual profile and specialized blade combination give whittlers, traditional knife enthusiasts, and collectors something noticeably different from the familiar Trapper or Stockman.

The CA06889 stands out with its rich Navy Blue Rogers Jig bone handle, pairing classic Case jigging with mirror-polished Tru-Sharp® stainless steel blades. Nickel silver bolsters and the Case shield complete a handsome American-made knife that's equally appealing for detailed cutting work, everyday carry, or the collection.

Description

The Seahorse Whittler uses three complementary blades: a large Wharncliffe, Pen, and Coping blade. The Wharncliffe provides a long straight cutting edge and precise point for controlled cuts, while the smaller Pen and Coping blades are useful when finer detail work is needed.

All three blades are made from Case Tru-Sharp® surgical stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish. Tru-Sharp® provides a practical balance of corrosion resistance, edge retention, and ease of sharpening—especially useful in a traditional pocket knife intended for detailed cutting and regular handling.

The Navy Blue Rogers Jig bone handles are a major part of this knife's character. Traditional jigging adds texture and depth to the rich blue coloring, while highly polished nickel silver bolsters give the knife the classic finished appearance expected from a Case traditional folder.

At 4 inches closed, the Seahorse Whittler provides enough handle for controlled cutting without becoming excessively large for pocket carry. Its distinctive frame and three-blade configuration also make it an interesting choice for someone who already owns the more common Case patterns and wants something different.

Collector Notes

The Seahorse Whittler's 6355WH SS pattern is particularly recognizable for its Wharncliffe main blade accompanied by smaller Pen and Coping blades. That specialized blade combination gives the pattern both its visual identity and its appeal among collectors of traditional multi-blade knives.

The Whittler pattern itself has longstanding roots in traditional cutlery, where multiple blade shapes give the user different cutting profiles for detailed work. Case's Seahorse interpretation is especially recognizable because of its curved handle profile and prominent Wharncliffe blade.
